Lake Michigan’s Admirals outlasted Grand Rapids 116-109 in OT in a preseason match up at Lake Michigan Catholic High School.
Tied at 103 in regulation, Benton Harbor natives Jay McCree and Rodney Alexander combined for 9 points in overtime to seal the victory. Alexander led the Admirals with 22 points followed by rookie Romain Martin with 18.
The Admirals took control of the second half with only 7 lead changes in regulation, but an eight point lead was erased by the Outlawzs with just over 3 minutes left. Fred Harris stole an inbound pass with 4 seconds left in regulation, but McCree’s shot fell short.
The Admirals are members of the Premier Basketball League.
